2nd P-day

Welp, I made it another week. I can't believe it is already P-day again... Time is flying by. I taught my first lesson last friday, it went really well the volunteer said it didn't seem like our first time teaching. Sister Low and I feel we have a few kinks to work out but I think we are handling it quite nicely. It is wonderful here weather is beautiful and my companion is just like me so we never disagree on what we want to do. I couldn't be happier. Thanks to everyone and their letters/emails. It is really nice. But I do need pictures from Sierra's, Foster's, and Flammer's... Maybe while DeAnne is out there we can get most of the grandkids or something. Hope the blessing goes well today, and that you are all having fun.

The other day in class I was the designated translator for the deaf sister we have in our distcrict. Wow is was amazing, I actually did it... I don't know how clear I was but I was able to get across what everyone was saying. That was such a blessing to do that. I feel a lot more confident in my signing then I thought I would by the 3rd week.

It is so weird all the English Elders that came the same week I did leave on monday..:( I still have 6 weeks, but can you believe that 6 weeks and that's it. I'm so excited for Lindsey James to get here, you will love it babe...

I have learned so much about myself and what I want to be and how to change that since I have been here. I know it's only been 15 days but man the time you spend learning about yourself and how you can make yourself better is so effective and meaningful. I love all the experiences I have had. My district is really close and I have come to love all of them, the elders work so hard and have such amazing testimonies, and they cry more than me. They are precious and will be amazing. As well as the sisters I will miss them when they go to their different places. They also leave a week earlier than I will so it will be sad and empty for a week, half of my district will be gone.

We have 2 new roommates, Sis. Hiyashi from Japan and Sis. Khadgi from napal. they are both going to temple square, I am so excited for them. Sis Khadgi has an amazing story. Her dad was the first person to be baptised in Napal and he was able to baptize all his family. Now sis khadgi gets the opportunity to go on a mission. Isn't the gospel amazing. We are all so blessed.

My sign name is an H handshape and you hold your hands up and flip your fingers in, this is my sign name because it is also the sign for sarcasim and bouncing around jokes. one of my teachers loves my sense of humor so he thought that was fitting. Now everyone does it and It's pretty funny. So I don't think I will lose my sense of humor. Don't worry. My teachers are all amazing, there are things that I relate to with each one individually so I feel I am really lucky in that aspect. And I can talk to them about anything.

Life here is wonderful I couldn't ask for anything more. Except letters. keep sending and really check out dearelder.com it's a wonderful program. I love you all and hope all is well with you. Flammers have fun in Utah, Sierras I need to hear from you, Porters hopefully hayden can say more than meow now, Holts I hear jaden is walking now?, Bennetts I hope all is well with little baby and i need to hear from you too, Fosters how is the house coming along? I love you all Friends and Family Until next week...

Love

1st half of letter

"Hey Everyone,

Today is my first P-Day... I think that officially makes me a missionary. So coo-ol!! I'm sure mom is freakin out because you haven't heard from me yet but I'm alive and so so so HAPPY!

Thanks for the letters I've recieved so far they are wonderful, and the pictures Jen. Please continue writting me. It's better to get letters because I can get those anyday where emails I only get once a week. You can also go onto dearelder.com and write to me and it comes like a mailed letter. So you should check that out. Oh and my proposed date to ship out of the MTC is November 11th.

MTC is awesome I absolutely love it here. I couldn't ask for a better experience. My companion is absolutely the best. She is perfect for me. Her name is Sister Low, pronounced like Cow. She is really so good for me. She really loves to use sign language and it helps me to use it more and be more comfortable with it. The MTC food I think is supposed to digest but no no it doesn't. It's not bad and I get lots of cookies. My old roommates are really awesome, they all went to Romania, they left monday morning. It's amazing how close you grow to people you have only known for such a short time. There is one other sister who leaves to Romania in 6 weeks she is from England and I just love her. We got 3 new roommates last night that are international going to temple square and one that is going to Monglia so that is exciting, I don't know them very well yet. And I got to go to the Provo temple today. It was amazing, so great to go as a missionary."

2nd half of letter

"I HAVE A NAME TAG!!! My favorite thing so far. It's beautiful. And the cool thing is, is that it says American Sign Language on it so for all the devotionals and firesides we get front row because one of the sisters in our district is deaf so she has an interpreter. On Tuesday Elder Holland came and spoke. It was a beautiful talk, best I've ever heard. He talked about not coming home with any regrets. My mission should be the most important thing in my life when I come home. He really pumped me up for my mission. To study hard, read my scriptures, learn to serve the people, and learn the language, the best I know how. That is what I am striving to do at the MTC. I can't wait to be in the field. I'm happy for you that are reading the B of M keep it up.

Thanks for all the support you have given to me I am so happy here and I can't wait for the next 18 months of my life. Keep writing letters and keep sending pictures. I love you all and wish you the best. Let my babies know I love them and think about them everyday.

Love Sister Holt"
