Life is Great! (8/31/10)

OK this was a great week for many reasons.

Yesterday we had our annual Mission Tour with Elder Stanley G. Ellis he is amazing. The coolest thing he did was after President and Sister Jardine spoke and his wife spoke he double testified of everything. He brought out more scriptures and stories that apply to what we learned. Pres Jardine talked about Alma the Younger, we used a lot of Alma 36 for his talk and how he had joy in the journey and through study, pray, fasting, service he received that joy. So Elder Ellis pulled from that and expanded, he asked us what the 2 most important chapters in the Book of Mormon are... he said Mosiah 24-25 because that discusses Alma Sr and everything he went through to get out of captivity and the MANY MIRACLES that happened in those Chapters. THey are important because when the angel comes to Alma the Younger he says, "Remember the captivity of your father." and everything from the Book of Mormon stems from that angel visiting Alma. WOW it's amazing i love the Book of Mormon and i love spiritual people that know how to pull things out and show them to me. Some day I will be able to study the Book of Mormon like that.

Sister Stoddard and I are two peas in a pod. I love her with all of me. We work great together. We have the Same goals and want to work hard and stay on task. It's a blessing to have her. It is our goal to hit standard of talking to 125 people every week of this transfer. So far we are doing good. I will have to keep you updated. We get a long great and I really love being a missionary.

We have stopped seeing a lot of our investigators this week because they were not coming to church and reading so we dropped them so now we can focus on seeing other people and hopefully finding new investigators. I can't wait. Miracles are already happening because we have added a new one on sunday. She is Hmong. Her family practices Shamanism. (i dunno how to spell it) and her grandpa is a Shaman. It is really kinda creepy everything they do. We had the Hmong elders explain it to me so i could understand a little better. It was crazy. I am grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

Well I love you all and life is great and being a missionary is really being a witness of Jesus Christ. The Church really is true. and I love that.

Oh another funny note is that Brenda our recent cnovert. SHe is the cutest thing ever and has no teeth. SO we convinced her to wear dentures to church on sunday and she did. IT WAS SO WEIRD!!! She looked really pretty with them. Cutie little deafies. I love life.

ANyway gotta run
Love Sister Holt
be happy and keep smiling.
